Focus on the Family Community: Relationships and Marriage: Am I ...

Dear Reidafaith,

?

I'm so sorry to hear about the difficult struggle you have had in your marriage! It is hard to work through hormonal changes that affect the ability to be in relationship with a spouse. You are not the only woman who is struggling with this. Many woman have difficulty with sex. I admire your strength and courage to stay committed to your marriage.

?

Sex is an important issue in marriage. If your doctors are saying there is nothing they can do to help, it may be that you need to continue to work with a licensed Christian counselor who can help you cope with your situation and grieve the loss, and look for alternative solutions that can help you and your spouse be healthy. I know it gets exhausting to constantly be working with a counselor. However, in this situation you do need ongoing support with someone who is specialized in this area. Are you familiar with CJ Penner's material? You may consider an intensive through that ministry.

?

This is a difficult subject to address on a forum environment. I would strongly encourage you to contact our counseling dept directly that we may be able to better assist you with your specific situation.

?

Please know we are praying for you!

?

Many Blessing,

?

Christina MSW, LCSW, FOTF Counseling Dept.?
